Privacy Policy

SharpShooter is a browser game. There is no account to create, no email to hand over, and nothing to buy. This page explains the small amount of data the site does handle.

What is stored in your own browser

These stay on your device, are readable only by this site, and are never sent to us:

• The jersey you picked for the shooter.
• Whether you muted the sound.
• The display name you last used on a leaderboard, so you do not retype it.
• Your personal best streak on each Shooting Range court.

Clearing your browser storage for this site removes all of it. Nothing here identifies you.

What is stored on the server

When you submit a score to a leaderboard, two things are saved: the score, and the display name you typed. That is the whole record. There is no account attached to it, and no email, IP address or device identifier is stored alongside it.

Leaderboard names are public by design, so please do not put anything private in one. Names are filtered for offensive content, and anything blocked is replaced with the word PLAYER.

If you want an entry removed, email matt@sharpshooterdm.com with the name and score, and we will delete it.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

These advertising cookies are set by Google, not by us, and we cannot read them.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not follow you to other sites. What it records is limited to the page you opened, the referring site if there was one, and coarse technical details such as country, browser, operating system and whether you are on a phone or a desktop. It does not collect your name, your email, your IP address or anything else that identifies you, and it is never joined to your leaderboard entry.

The hosting provider, Vercel, also keeps standard server request logs.

Children

The game is suitable for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
